To be honest I did not really like the idea of making a twitter account. In high school I had to make a twitter account also for student council. I did not like using it then, so I figured I still would not like using it now. I was correct in assuming that I would not like it still. When you already have a different social network account it seems pointless to have another one because anything I want to let people know, I put on Facebook first. So I feel like having to sign into another account just to say the same thing is pretty pointless. So in my opinion it is pretty pointless to have both a Facebook and a twitter account.
Although I do not like the idea of having both accounts I feel like it could be useful to some people. Some people might have different groups of people they want to reach and tell different things to them. In my situation right now though, I do not have more than one group of people I want to reach. So, maybe at some point in the future I will make a new twitter account or use the one I created this year. I do not think I will be doing that until probably after my sophomore year when I start looking for internships and summer jobs. Then I could utilize another social network for another reason then I use Facebook for.
So as for now I will not be using twitter anytime soon. I will just keep updating my status on Facebook and letting my friends know what I am up to. When I need to start contacting other groups I will fire my twitter account back up and start tweeting. Unless some new website is created by then that becomes more popular than twitter, because nowadays that seems to be happening more and more often.

I can see where you are coming from. I don't like the idea of using more than one social network either. Facebook has everything I need right there!
ReplyDeleteIt's good that you're honest about how you feel about it. I'm sure many can relate to those feelings as well. I'm glad though that you are still able to see the benefit and possibilities it can offer, even if you're not keen on utilizing it at this moment in time.
ReplyDeleteI agree facebook is good enough for now and is big for people are age
ReplyDeleteVery true! It's cool that you had to use it in high school. It's a great communication tool for some people!
ReplyDeleteI like how you had to use it in High School and didn't enjoy it but found a little more benefit to it this time!
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how just a little time later you were able to find a bit more benefit in Twitter, but it does seem kind of pointless to have multiple social networks and try to keep them up to date.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree... the whole multiple accounts thing sucked...
ReplyDeleteSo I use a thing that let me post to both of them at the same time from the same app. Loved it. Good blog!
Having multiple accounts is a hassle good point.
ReplyDeleteDefinetely agree with the whole multiple accounts, too much to handle.
ReplyDeleteWhen you have too many accounts it really gets hard to remember the passwords and things like that. Great post
